Visitor analytics and privacy

v2Movies uses aggregate server traffic reports to understand readership and diagnose errors and suspected bots. Estimates use internet addresses and browser information in existing server logs. The report processor hashes these locally and publishes only totals. Private editor URLs, query strings, raw addresses, browser identifiers and account details are not included in visitor reports.

Google Analytics measures public-page visits, reading depth, visible-tab reading time, review openings, artwork and outbound-link clicks, display/sort choices and numeric loading/interaction performance. It uses analytics cookies and browser information and can report approximate location and device information. Public film titles and external link domains group measurements. When you are signed in, a random-looking account identifier helps recognize your visits across devices. We do not send Google your name, email, review drafts, search terms, form values or private editor activity. Signing in is not required to read.

There is no automatic cookie pop-up. Google measurement starts automatically for visits recognized as coming from the United States unless you previously declined or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Country recognition uses local IP allocation data without contacting an address-lookup service. Outside the United States, or if the location is uncertain or the local data is out of date, Google stays off unless you choose “Allow analytics” below. The site’s aggregate server reader counts continue in either case.

You can turn Google measurement off with “No thanks” below; your choice lasts six months. Return through “Analytics preferences” to change it. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, Google Signals and user-provided advertising data are disabled. We use these reports to improve reviews and the site, not for personalized ads.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services · Google Analytics browser opt-out

Server reports retain recorded aggregate history and disclose its coverage. Google reporting starts when tracking is enabled and cannot recreate earlier browser activity. Reading measurements indicate engagement, not proof that somebody read or understood every word. Detected editors are labeled separately; signed-out editors cannot reliably be recognized.
